Lowe likes Sabathia signing

WEEI.com’s Lou Merloni talked to a source close to Derek Lowe who reported that the acquisition of C.C. Sabathia by Yankees has actually made the prospects of signing with New York more attractive to the right-handed pitcher. Reportedly, Lowe’s thinking was that without Sabathia there may be too many questions still remaining in the Yankees’ rotation. There are some reports that Lowe has been offered a deal worth four years at more than $60 million.

Well good luck to Lowe if he goes to yankees. He is going to need it with Girardi on the helm. First he has to pass a brutal boot camp, then he has to deal with high strung Girardi who expects perfection every time they play. Did you noticed that there was tension in the way they played last year? Some of the players didn’t care to play for him.They quit on him some Yankee fans were saying. Some of the veterans went to complain about the way he behaved towards the players to the management.You will see Sabathia is going to get away from them in 3 years.

Of course DLowe likes the Yankees signing Sabathia - it’s a clear indicator that they’ve got the cash and are looking to spend it on pitching — his area of interest.
I’d love to see DLowe back in Boston, I’ve always been a fan of his pitching, but I never once was convinced that we would see him back here despite the rumors of interest.

I’d like to see Lowe in Boston again but the price would have to be right. He would be the number four or five starter and as that a nice to have but not a need to have.
