WEEI.com has learned that the Red Sox will be playing teams from the National League East as their inter-league foes next season and mong the teams the Red Sox will host are the Mets and Florida Marlins, while one of the inter-league road destinations for the Sox will be Washington D.C.

The Providence Journal-Bulletin reported Wednesday that the Sox will help open the Mets’ new stadium, Citi Field, with two exhibition games prior to the regular season. The paper also wrote that the Red Sox will open their season at Fenway Park for just the second time in the last 13 seasons, taking on the Tampa Bay Rays.
