Posey Hoping for Celtics-Hornets Finals

James Posey has been watching the Boston Celtics from afar this season but hopes to see them up close in June. In a recent interview with HOOPSWORLD, Posey admits to keeping tabs on his former teammates now that he is playing for the New Orleans Hornets.
“Yeah, I check them out. They are the defending champs. They are the champs until someone beats them,” Posey said, adding, “That’s what I told them – me versus them in the Finals. That would be a nice ending to the season.”
The veteran sixth man is averaging 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in nearly 30 minutes a game for the Hornets. His shooting has also jumped to 48.5% from the field and 44.7% from long-range.
The Hornets are 5-5 and will take on the Celtics December 12 in Boston and February 11 in New Orleans. Safe to say there’ll be no hugs before those games.
